The research in this paper was part of a project,which was supported by the National Science Foundation of China(Grant No.50978177), characteristics of bending capacity course of a plain masonry wall under bending and invariable axial force are researched and a test on how to achieve flexural destruction configuration of masonry shear walls is designed.Course route of elastic-plastic bending capacity is studied during different strain phases in order to investigate mechanics properties of unreinforced masonry walls carrying bending moment and invariable axial force under horizontal action. Therefore, model of elastic-plastic stress on normal section is firstly established, then the formula of bending capacity is theoretically deduced at each stage of different circumstances of initial cracking. or crushing. Programming and numerical simulating are carried out on these bases. The researches indicate that normal section cracks firstly under usual value of axial compressive stress to strength and bending capacity will not degenerate later but increase gradually, normal section crushes and bending capacity degenerates linearly after ultimate bending capacity is reached; bending cracking begins at local edges and gradually expands which exhibits better ductility; the process of tensile cracking or compressive crushing becomes shorter along with increase of ratio of axial compressive stress to strength. On the other hand, the results indicate that normal section crushes firstly under higher value of axial stress to strength and course route of bending capacity assumes trend of continuous decline.In this paper,3 full-sized experimental wall are designed,all of which are full-sized models.and carried out the experiment of 6 specimens under the low period loading.The whole test is designed,which includes the design of the used apparatus and devices.and the loading scheme and measuring plan are also designed in the paper.In order to make sure the test be conducted to our wishes.All the design are based on the equipments which can be obtained in the Civil Structure Laboratory of Taiyuan University of Technology.and can meet the whole test's needs.Foremost,the design is economical and optimized.The manufacture method of the specimens is intruduced detailedly,which is innovative,not same as the conventional one.When making the specimens,the top beam and the bottom beam are prefabricated firstly,bricklaying is carried out successively, after the wall is made well the top beam is fixed on it with cement mortar.The number and the manufacture method of concrete and mortar test samples are intruduced detailedly,and the fixing of specimens are also intrudced in detalil,which is ignored in other documents.how to conduct the test and how to deal with test data are illuminated.the normal section bearing capacity and the strength in shear of flexual specimen calculated in the paper,which can provide useful reference when conduct the test,is also provide a general estimation of the bearing capacite of the wall specimens.
