With the rapid growth of industry, people came to realize serious environmental problem that caused by the transitional exhaustive exploitation and toxic emission during burning, so, to search for a sustainable development way has to be the international community consensus. Wind is a clean, pollution-free energy, using wind to drive the machine to generate electricity can save much more energy such as coal, oil etc, so wind power is an effective alternative energy sources. Power system with wind farm has different operating characteristics. The output of wind farm is fluctuating as the volatility of wind changed. The uncertainty and the fluidity is one of the main factor for unstability of power system contain wind farm. The impact of small capacity wind farm on system stability should be ignored, but with the develepment of wind power, the impact of large scale wind farm on stability of voltage and frequency will be the most valuable research subject for the future. The paper analysis the characteristics of system frequency, the main contents are as bellow:(1) Established the model of wind farm based on different type of wind generators, which are constant speed constant frequency wind power generator (CSCF) and variable speed constant frequency wind power generator (VSCF).(2) Analyzed the different operation characteristics between the wind power generator and usual generator in the IEEE-14 typical system, and find the impact of different type wind generator on system frequency. At last, analyzed how different wind model influence the output of wind farm.(3) Take 1EEE-14 system as example, calculating wind power penetration limit of 1EEE-14 system when the system is disturbed by different wind model and run with different load level using time-domain dynamic simulation method.(4) Verified the validity of time-domain dynamic simulation method by calculating A area's wind power penetration limit, and calculated wind power penetration limit when the area interconnected with other system. (5) Analyze the ability of frequency regulating of A area model with AGC. The result shows that AGC is good for system frequency regulating and improve the level of wind power penetration limit.
