Variable Pitch power regulation technology is one of the important large-scale grid-unit technologies. Hydraulic variable pitch system is a system using the way of variable pitch control. It is significant for improving the control quality of variable-speed comstant-frequency (VSCF) wind turbine generator system (WTGS) by studying the dynamic attributes and control performance of hydraulic variable pitch system. Since these systems have mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and other energy conversion problems, and the power bond graph method has its unique advantages in engineering systems modeling where the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and other of energy co-exist, power bond graph method is used in this paper to establish a wind turbine hydraulic variable pitch system model. Then the simulation structure of the system model is built with the tool of Matble/Simulink to perform simulation analysis of the system's dynamic characteristics. From the perspective of energy conservation and conversion, the main factors those affect the system's dynamics and performance are studied; based on the hydraulic variable pitch system model, a closed-loop control system is constructed using PID controller and the hydraulic pitch control system is stimulated with the tool of Matlab/Simulink to analyse the system's dynamic and steady-state performance. The results provide a useful reference for the future study of the hydraulic pitch control system.
