This thesis, titled the Research on the Bow Style of the Inland Icebreaker, based on the characteristics of the Songhua River, and the climate factors of the Harbin Area, is mainly about the calculation and comparison for the bow styles of the inland-river icebreaker.The supporting project of this thesis is Yilan Navigation Hydropower Junction. And the main contents include developmental general situation of the icebreaker, the summarization of the relevant researches and the ice characteristics in the Songhua River, the choice of the icebreaker bow models, the fluid field analysis of the icebreaker bow models, the icebreaking effect analysis of the icebreaker bows, and the research on the mechanism icebreaking, etc.The modes in the thesis are the model construction and the division of the mesh with the help of the software ANSYS ICEM, and getting the constructed models directed into the software FLUENT for the calculation.There are two models for comparison in this thesis, the Big Obliquity and the Bending Beeline, both which are calculated in FLUENT for the fluid capability, and simulated in ANSYS FEA for the icebreaking effect, then confirm the better bow style for the inland icebreaker. And the relationship between the icebreaking bow and the icebreaking mode of mechanism is going to be detailedly described in the ending part of the thesis.Two conclusions are resulted in the thesis, No.1, the Big Obliquity can give better speediness for the icebreaker, and No.2, the Bending Beeline better icebreaking effect. The selection depends on the navigation conditions and the thickness of the ice. The software simulation takes almost the whole part in this thesis, and the experimental is not the main aspect. Therefore, in order to confirm the reliability of the research, we need more experiments for the study in the future.
