The thesis is mainly about the ice-breaking ways and the propulsion performance of the rivery icebreaker.The research of rivery icebreaker in the country has been in a blank in the research stage, with the economic development and the needs of river basins, the research of icebreaker design is imperative.In the Songhua River water system, the winter always lasts about six months every year. For thess high-latitude areas, the freeze in winter fairways seriously restricting the development, especially in the periods of icing and the ablation, the premature frozen fairways bring much inconvenience. And many vessels in Songhua river are in the accidents because of the ice. So, this paper is basic of the subject of YiLan navigation, research the problems of the icebreaker.This paper includes two aspects, the research of ice-breaking ways and the propulsion performance of the rivery icebreaker. There are two methods of ice-breaking, the continuous and the crash ice-breaking ways. Icebreaker mainly works in the periods of icing and the ablation, the main ice thickness is around 300 mm. So the continuous ice-breaking way is the first choose, to meet the demand for work.In the propulsion performance of the icebreaker, mainly use the ducted propeller as the main propulsion. At first, research the nature of the ice in the Songhua River water system, the resistance performance of the icebreaker, and then, study the propulsion performance of icebreaker.The advantage of the ducted propeller is, this type propeller can support greater thrust and higher efficiency under low speed, so is the first choice. For the ducted propeller, including the fixed ducted propeller type and the Z type ducted propeller type. Ues the Surface panel method and spectrum method to calculate the propulsive performance. Also compare with the experimental datas.
