Based on hydraulic technology, this paper expounds the classification, structure and characteristics of a hydro-pneumatic suspension. Hydro-pneumatic spring is an important part of hydro-pneumatic suspension, it is the elastic element for medium on inert gas and it transmits pressure between piston oil and gas as middle medium.Throught the rough design, the paper describes the structure and working principle of hydro-pneumatic. And based on so much, this paper computes major parameters of hydro-pneumatic cylinder after giving designing demands of the hydro-pneumatic cylinder through properly consulting parameters based on engineering vehicle in existence according to theoretic of hydro-pneumatic cylinder with dual gas-accumulators. Depending on hydrodynamics, BWR equation of real gas and the first law of thermodynamics etc, the non-linear mathematical model for hydro-pneumatic cylinder is built up. On the basis of the model, by use of the simulation software programmed in MATLAB/SIMULINK, the paper studies the force-displacement characteristics, the force-velocity characteristics, nonlinear stiffness and damping characteristics, and discovers the affection disciplines of parameters such as excitation parameters, and working parameters on characteristics of hydro-pneumatic cylinder. Considering comprehensively the nonlinear factors of hydro-pneumatic spring, the paper makes some the corresponding performance analysis from the two aspects of static and dynamic. The paper and summarizes the influence factors of hydro-pneumatic spring, to provide reference for the related research.
