Transmission Line Icing is a serious natural disasters, accidents caused by serious harm to the safe operation of power grid. In recent years, a major power transmission lines in China ice disaster incidents continue to emerge. In February 2001, Henan Province, a major area of 220kV transmission lines iced down bar (tower), and ice-covered insulator flashover accident in Henan power grid virtually collapsed; from December 2004 to February 2005 between, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Henan, Chongqing, Guizhou and other places of the grid infrastructure severe icing phenomenon, grid security is threatened, victims suffered serious losses.In order to prevent a similar accident a major Icing conducted Iced Insulators (long) string of DC flashover characteristics of experimental research and to explore reasonable technical measures to prevent ice flash is necessary, will ensure that regional power grid Icing safe and reliable operation with the important practical significance and value of the works, in response to the accident Icing provide an important frame of reference and technical guidance.In this paper, the formation of ice-covered insulator and affect the principles of DC Flashover Insulator Icing the factors analyzed, and in the laboratory for different types of insulators Icing tests carried out on the dirty insulator flashover characteristics of iced DC, V DC iced insulator string flashover characteristics are studied and put forward to prevent the DC insulator flashover Icing the corresponding measures.
