With the development of pipe jacking technology, pipe jacking reinforced concrete pipe applications from development to the present steel pipe, clay pipes, ductile iron pipe, asbestos cement pipes, FRPM pipes and other pipes. Present in most parts of the application of more the traditional pipe,such as reinforced concrete pipe, steel pipe. In recent years in some places gradually began to use new GRP pipe and other pipe.Traditional pipe such as reinforced concrete pipe and steel pipe are widely used in our countary for a long time.Traditional pipe has many advantages, but also some drawbacks. The new type pipe advantages of FRPM pipe just to make up the deficiencies of traditional pipe, but can not completely replace the traditional pipe. New type pipe of FRPM domestic manufacturers is little and expensive. Projects in the sewage treatment how to select jacking pipe reasonably and correctly is very important.In this paper, the sewage treatment system project of pipe applications of the north Guangzhou Baiyun District as background, by introducing the common three kinds pipe's characteristics and performance , analyzing the load action on the pipe, focusing on the top of the pipe jacking force and allowable jacking force and pipeline strength, stability and deformation calculations. Combined with the practical application of engineering, reasonalbly selecting jacking pipe sthrough the pipe structure calculated and the result of finite element analysis .Selecting pipe reasonable and correctly are based on the engineering geological conditions and the actual situation , the structure calculation and analysis. Traditional and new pipe has its own technology characteristics and advantages, pipe selection should be based on usage, construction technology and project cost and other factors.
