With the development of society and technology, automobile has been playing an important role in people, lives, however traffic accidents are increased steadily. The Safety of driving has been regarded by people increasingly. Tires play a key role in car stability, safety and fuel consumption. Thus, Real-time monitoring tire Pressure and finding out abnormal situation in time is the key point to avoid this type of accidents. Properly inflated tires can also save fuel consumption, reduce tire abrasion and achieve certain environmental benefits and economic benefits. The direct and indirect TPMS's advantages and disadvantages were analyzed in this paper. The general blueprint of the TPMS was designed based on the conclusion. The rules of choosing the chiefly components were given out. The hardware of tire pressure monitoring system was designed in detail based on the total design. The system is composed by one receiver and supervision (warning) module and some measurement modules installed in tires. The system of hardware was designed by modularization. Low power, small dimension and high stability were considered while designing the tire module. Temperature, pressure data were measured by sensor installed on measurement modules and dealed correspondingly. The data was transmitted by the RF transmitter instrument. The alarming module used the LCD to display the data of tire's temperature and pressure. This TPMS used the sound, the light to remind the driver while the pressure was abnormal. Each part of this directed wireless tire pressure monitoring system has been analyzed and designed in the paper. The key technical problem such as low power, small dimension, reliability of communication and tire positioning has been solved. The primary modules were tested and the feasibility of the designment brought forward in this paper was verified.
