Planning Study Of Pedestrian Spaces In Residence Zone Of Lingnan

Along with the development of social civilization and the improvement of living standard, the requirement of getting better living environment from the residences is also rising up. Pedestrian space is the most often used space for residents among residential community, for which the comfort level, reliability and landscape effects the service efficiency to the residents. A well constructed pedestrian space may provide traffic space and social community space for residents, as well as regulating residents'psychological condition, releasing pressure and service to a harmony living environment.According to the influence of Lingnan characteristic weather condition to the pedestrian space, this essay will combine the research of Lingnan characteristic weather condition with the research of local resident culture background; integrate the requirement of human factor; from the urban planning point of view; through the analysis research of academic crossover, hence define the major factor of pedestrian space design and landscape planning design. By concluding the traditional pedestrian space model of Lingnan, such as Lingnan Garden and The Star River Garden; by combining the previous research base and the modern pedestrian space model, this essay will try to advice and guide the future pedestrian space planning design by discuss the element such as: walking route design; boundary treatment of pedestrian space; square space; public green space; infrastructural facilities and detail design of space.This essay is going to analysis the pedestrian space of Lingnan, which will be divided into five parts. The first part will be the introduction, in which will introduce the purpose and meaning of the research, define research target and substance associate with the theories and experience of oversea countries. The second part will define the basic research of the pedestrian space of residential community for Lingnan. In the third part, it will provide examples to explain the Lingnan residential community pedestrian space planning model and landscape planning. There will be three specific example analyses in the fourth part: the first one is about the pedestrian space design of Fuli Modern Square Residential Community,; the second example is about the pedestrian space design of Lingnan Garden Residential Community; an old town pedestrian space design of Nanhuaxi road will be provided in the third example. There will be a sum up in the last part of the essay, in which will also brings up some suggestion for the Lingnan residential community pedestrian space planning design and some discussions about future research direction.
