It is commonly utilization method which tideland sludge are turned into available soil material by medical stabilization. Develop technology of sludge stabilization, waste sludge can be used effectively, and replace the translation building materials, and reduce the project cost. The new exploration is carried out on sludge treatment continuously at home and abroad, which was effectively applied to engineering and became the research focus. However, the understanding on curing mechanism of tideland sludge is still in the preliminary stage because of sludge's complication, high water content, large compression, low strength, poor stability.In this paper, it is the object of Jiao Jiang tideland sludge in Zhe Jiang province. The study based on the changes of strength and water content and stress-strain relationship. The starting point is the main factors on affecting stabilization effect. In this study, it is the gold of research that find out the most important factor on stabilization by some methods, such as:prepare stabilization agent by laboratory experiments, and study the variation of unlimited compressive strength, combine microscopic characteristics with macroscopic mechanical properties, and reconcile qualitative analysis with quantitative statistical analysis.To study stabilization mechanism of different curing materials, curing materials with different designed ratio was added to sludge, while the composition solidified mud tideland, microstructure, moisture content and other characteristics were studied. The nature of the sludge was changed by adding water reducing agent in the mud, adding potassium permanganate and changing the pH value. Comparison with no treatment, the results, treatment with the three treatment trials, showed 28d unconfined compressive strength reduced of 16.6%, respectively, increased 22% and 44%, and the early strength increased 101% with increasing the pH value so that further research focused on the effect by adding NaOH. The SEM micro-analysis showed that the hydration of solidified sludge mixed with NaOH was more than solidified sludge with no-doping NaOH. The XRD micro-analysis showed that the hydration of solidified sludge was C-S-H,C-A-H,CH. The internal factor of strength of solidified sludge is the conversion of water, so the impact of water conversion on stabilization was studied, and the results show that the amount of water conversion has been contributed to the strength. While, the stress-strain relations in the destruction process was studied, and failure strain was in the range from 1.8% to 2.8%, and the destruction process had nature of brittle fracture.
