To the internal-combustion engine, cylinder and piston ring are the most important part which people always focus on researching. The quality of wear performance between cylinder and piston ring affects the capability of engine.The paper researches the cylinder and piston ring which produced by the Yunnan internal-combustion engine company. After discussion of some fundamental theory about the friction and abrasion, the paper takes a series of experiments according to the friction and abrasion of cylinder and piston ring. The paper takes drill machine as the base power, and then designs an experiment equipment which can be used to research the friction and abrasion between the cylinder and piston ring. On the base of the equipment we can design more research projects under variable condition, such as different material,power and work condition. According to wear course test, the paper researches character of wear particle and appearance of friction parts,so it gets the relation between abrasion,wear paticle and apparance of parts, and riches the wear particle pictures and theory about friction and abrasion, it aslo provides strongthly theory evidence for fault monitoring of cylinder and piston ring; on the base, the paper analyses friction and abrasion performance to the different materials in the same condition and theoryly analyses effection of matieral and heat treatment to friction and abrasion performance, and proposes some suggestions about reletive reducing abrasion; the paper analisyses effection of oil with nami-ceramic addtive to fiction and abrasion in different conditions, and finally finds out how conditions can affect reducing abrasion effect; According to analysis of wear paticle, finds out addtive's mechanism of reducing abrasion and reducing abrasion mechanism, proposes reletive reducing abrasion suggestion from running-in technology, so it has practical reference value.
