With the highly development of Kunming city and countryside, the civil engineering along the river shore is more widespread and complicated day by day. However, in Kunming Pond basin area, as one of the soft soil that has the worse geotechnical engineering properties, peaty soil brings a lot of questions to the security around river bank project. However the general soil test can not be good to analyze and research the mechanical properties of peat bank. Therefore according to the flat chisel work mechanism, newly introducing flat test to analyze test, knowing the change rule of peaty soil's mechanical properties, and using the triaxial test to research the constitutive relations of the peat bank, all of these become one of the important contents of engineering geology and geotechnical engineering in Kuming Pond area. The research contents are as follows:Firstly, a test site was choosed by the bank of Chuanfang River in the Kunming Pond area. And the in-situ test have been carried here, that include static cone penetration, vane shear test and flat dilatometer test. Among them, flat dilatometer test belongs to a newer method of in-situ test which has not popularized in the field of geotechnical engineering in Yunnan Province. We could research the relation between the mechanical properties of peat(Cu and Es) and the shore effect. At the same time we also could curve fitting the shear strength of Cu and depth indicators H and L the distance from the shore of the relationship.Secondly, by getting the relationship of the shore effect to the shear strength of peaty soil impact, we use FLAC 3D to simulate practical projects, and do the contrastive analysis between simulative and actual damage effect. Further analysis proves that the shore effect exist, and its influnce to the peaty soil's property. Finally, taking peat soil samples for laboratory soil tests which include all kinds of soil physical index test and triaxial compression test. Experimental results of triaxial compression is normalized and based on the non-linear elastic analysis. Thus it puts forward the shearing strength of peaty soil in Kunming Pond region shearing strain relationship is in accordance with K-G hyperbolic model relationship, and then we get variational equation of bulk modulus and shear modulus. All of these will contribute to calculate the slope stability and deep excavation as well as the displacement of foundation.â…¢...
