The Regionalism In Lijiang's Contemporary Architectural Creation And Criticism

LiJiang has unique and rich natural resource, Simultaneously it has glorious and deep historical culture. The Lijiang area is composed by the Naxi nationality primarily, including more than ten races, such as Lisu race, Yi race, the PuMi race, Miao race, Zang races, Zhuang race, Hui race. They interchange their idears and learn from each other which forms the extremely denseness and characteristic national culture. Since the reform and open policy, along with the economical development and traveling development, Lijiang's development has received people's favor and attention continuously, initiated people's worrying and thinking. This paper is about Lijiang's contemporary architectural creation.The development of Lijiang city is the same as other cities in our country which was under the globalization impact inevitablly. The architectural creation was influenced by the international-modernistic style. But as a result of its extremely deep history culture connotation and intense protection consciousness, Lijiang's architectural creation received the fetter of traditional culture and some thought-provoking problems appeared.Based on the Critical Regionalism theory, took 1980s to the beginning of 21st century as research background, This paper take Lijiang's architectural creation as study object in this time. Thorough careful studies about Lijiang's regional characteristic and in the foundation of study and combs the Critical Regionalism theory, I collected, screening, the architectural creation of Lijiang for near 30 years. And take the time as clue, take the milestones of Lijiang urban development as the break point, I divides this historic course into three different periods:the simplicity exploration period, the cover reveals petiod and the strict unification time, in the view of architectural creation to recital separately, to explore and criticize the Regionalism in its architectural creation, and summarize the different characteristics and manifestation mode of Regionalism in architectural creation in the contemporary era in each time, and form clearerly a road of the Li jiang's architectural creation in the contemporary era, finally proposed the conception of architectural creation, and provide some research results for the development of Lijiang's architectural creation.
