With the repaid development of China's power industry and gradually standardizing of domestic electrical market, the market pressingly needs a large number of technology maturity power transmission and distribution equipment with high-parameters, high reliability and good performance instantly. For the manufacture enterprises making high voltage electrical products, designing protected to meet the needs of safety designed, energy saving, high efficiency, environmental protection will be the main topic in the future. Under these backgrounds, Yunkai Electric Group is also actively devoting into the optimization of their products. Through the cooperation with Kunming University of Science and Technology, Yunkai has completed a batch of product function's improvements, reduced the production costs as well, such as electric current transformer.The background of this article is science and technology innovation projects in Yunnan province "Yunnan Switch Factory integrated high/low voltage switch equipment design, manufacturing collaboration demonstration project. The study project is Yunnan Switchgear Factory's plateau type epoxy resin casting 40.5kV current transformers. First use finite element analysis to get loss numerical solution of the transformer core with no-load. Then validate the correctness and effectiveness of electromagnetic analysis though comparative analysis of numerical solution and engineering theory analytical solution. Third analysis current transformer internal leakage magnetic field in the method of finite element electromagnetic analysis, in connection with the same model and boundary conditions, by making several comparisons of real parameters, propose optimization schemes of the internal structure of the transformer. At the same time, focus on the problem of flashover discharge of current transformer external insulation in engineering, improving external insulation structure of current transformer by the theoretical calculation of high-voltage insulation. Improve the flashover discharge voltage of transformer in the high altitude environment. At last through the factory tests of experimental data to demonstrate the structural optimization scheme.By means of simulation analysis of the internal magnetic field and outer insulation theory calculations of 40.5kV level epoxy resin casting current transformers, explored current transformer optimization design method in the plateau environment, also provide a reference at high altitudes to solve this kind of problems.
