The rapid development of information technology, virtual reality technology gradually improved, and the popularity of the Internet has brought the mode of production and lifestyle changes, so that makes the production and living space of human expanded to the "virtual space", opening up a virtual survival times. A new class of products-"virtual products" appears in the virtual space, "virtual packaging design" for virtual products is an unprecedented new packaging design issues and development.Innovation of this research focused on anticipated the development space and trend of the new type of packaging named "virtual packaging", and makes a prospective study of the properties and design patterns of virtual packaging. Describes the premise, realistic basis and technological basis of the virtual packaging, then put forward innovative definition of virtual packages; Research the properties of virtual space (the application environment of virtual packaging), and the new features of interpersonal in virtual space; Focus on the elements and sensory form of virtual packaging, and classifies the manifestation of virtual packaging; Contrasts features, ideas, techniques, forms and the generation and sales process of virtual packaging and physical packaging, then defines the differences and similarities of them, summed up the characteristics of virtual packaging; Pointed out that the principle of virtual packaging design on the foundation of mastered the basic properties of virtual packaging, and proposed the specific design methods of the various components of the virtual packaging; Proposed systematic view of the virtual packaging design, suggested a virtual packaging design process under the guidance of systematic design view, and carried out design practice to verify the theory.Virtual packaging is a kind of autonomy, transcendence, digital packaging, it is the inevitable trend of revolutionary development of social production and the lifestyle. Virtual packaging is one of the symbols of information civilization. This study would like to be able to grasp the pulse of the times and make meaningful virtual packaging design theory and methods, let virtual packaging provides better service for the virtual product marketing and human daily lives.
