Fouling phenomenon widely exists not only in industry process such as power, petroleum, chemical industries, but also exists in daily life, such as water fouling, oil fouling, et al, since the fouling deposits on heat transfer surfaces create a barrier to heat transfer, increase pressure drop and promote corrosion of tube material. This paper mainly researches the mixed salt solution, which consists of CaSO4, Ca3(PO4)2 and CaCO3, at different operation parameters.First, some heat transfer performances of the plate heat exchanger was carried out and the related performance curves and the dimensionless correlation are collected. The heat transfer efficiency of the plate heat exchanger was calculated by exergy analysis method to guarantee that the experiment was carried out at the optimal exergetic efficiency.Second, the experiment research the fouling characteristic of mixed salts solution, which consist of CaSO4, Ca3(PO4)2 and CaCO3, at same solution concentration and same calcium ion concentration. The results showed that the fouling thermal resistance of same solution concentration is more than that of same calcium ion concentration solution. And the mixed salt fouling thermal resistance is closely related to the composition of the solution.Third, the metallographic microsc0ope and scanning electron microscope were used to quantify the fouling deposit characteristics. The results showed both salts of the mixed salt solution had precipitated the process of fouling deposit.Forth, the research work and suggestions were summarized to improve the system, which can be useful for the oncoming studies.
