It has an important meaning and effect for improving performance of missile weapon system and enhancing fighting competence of missile force that research on ballistic missile launch simulating.Virtual reality is applied in the ballistic missile simulation in this paper. From modeling of ballistic missile launch process,builds up a simulation system of dynamic visual of ballistic missile.This paper includes mainly the following works.Firstly it researches modeling the ballistic missile launch place, builds up double-deck hemispheroidal sky, which can meet the requirement of ballistic missile flying scene. Terrain triangular networks is constructed by used Digital Elevation Model data, and multi-resolution and limitative quad tree technologies are introduced to simplify the terrain data process. To enhance the immersing feeling, texture fusion technology is used to create nature trees,and implements dynamic cruise.Secondly it researches the model of flying trajectory and locomotive gesture of ballistic missile, gives the ballistic equations of active flying section and inertial passive flying section, uses iterative calculation to obtain the parameters of ballistic equation, builds up a whole variable, non-linear and time-varying kinematics and dynamics model of six degrees freedom, which implements the simulating of six degrees freedom gesture of ballistic missile.Thirdly it introduces principia of particle system detailed, uses the method that combining both geometrical modeling and particle system to simulate tail flame of missile. Based on resolving the Navier-Stokes equation by using hydrodynamics calculation and defining the 3-dimentional velocity field by using interpolation, mushroom smoke generated when missile exploded is simulated preferably. Nature weather phenomena are also introduced in this paper.Finally the dynamic simulating of whole launch process is implemented on a VC++ platform, and it can achieve an animation effect about from 28 to 32 frames per second on PC.
