As an important plastic processing technique, stamping forming of sheet metal applied in automobile manufacturing widely. Recent years, advance high strength steel sheet metal has been greatly applied in the manufacturing of automobile pressing parts. But, when the steel strength exceed 1000Mpa, traditional methods of cold stamping are hard to produce complicated shape of the body parts, so hot stamping appear. It has the ability to forecast the forming defects, reduce the cost of products and shorten the period of production by using the numerical simulation of finite element method in the stamping process of automobile pressing parts. Hot stamping process of engine dumping plate is the object of study. Mould structure is designed and the stamping forming of engine dumping plank is researched by using finite element software of DYNAFORM. At last, the main defect of stamping forming of engine dumping plank is analyzed.The principal contents in this paper are as follows:1. It design the hot stamping mould of dumping plate. Mould design process is for structural analysis and process analysis of engine dumping plate, and then to draw the parts diagram, based on it to determine the technology methods, select the structure of the mould, and make a necessary calculation to determine stock layout and the size of the work part.and choose a suitable punching machine. Finally, choose the parts from the manual of mould, and then make a mold assembly drawings and parts diagram.2. The theory and key techniques of numerical simulation in finite element are expounded. Established the molds of blank and die by CAD software of UG, and save as IGES form. Then it simulated by the software of Dynaform. At last it measured the thickness value of practical pressing part comparing with simulative thickness value and proved the simulative result is reliability by experiment.
