Traditional valve is the very difficult to combines the function of open and shut-down with the discharge and the pressure in the field of hydraulic. Everything has its drawbacks.With the application of electro-rheological (ER) technology in the hydraulic, gets rid of deficiencies of the traditional valve. Under the control of electrical signal, it can realize steeples speed changing wear-resizing and longer service life. The above functions are determined by properties of electrorheological fluid. The ER valve has some strong points:(1) Electrical signal act on flow medium directly realizing control of the discharge and the pressure(2) The control procedure needs small time delay and fast response speed. The process does not require traditional mechanism.(3) The ER valve has wear-resizing, longer service life due to no contact kinematic pair.(4) The ER valve is simple, low-cost and easy for industrial productionThis paper analyzes relative factors that influence the fluid pressure including two parts:(1) structure parameters of the ER valve cause pressure difference following the law of effect of discharge. (2) Elecrheological effect cause pressure difference following the law of effect of structure parameters of the ER and electric field strength. The velocity field distribution is analyzed in the parallel plate blind side condition while having no in addition electric field to electrorheological fluid.Based on theoretical analysis, a kind of new the ER valve is designed which is in the parallel plate blind side condition. The approval increases or decreases the electrode quantity of knotholes difference to change vs. the current of two gaps and four gapes valve progress FLUENT imitate true analysis to combine a set to set up test system to start experiment a search. The changes of pressure relates to the discharge field intensity and crack. In the case of the constant discharge, the changing trend of the field intensity and the pressure are roughly the same. Under the same field intensity condition, the smaller the crack, the bigger the changes of pressure. Under the constant field intensity condition, the changes of pressure have linear relationship with the discharge. Under the constant field intensity condition, the bigger the crack, the smaller changes of pressure. As the crack becomes bigger the trend became weaker.This paper describes a new kind ER valve of series and parallel, which is gets rid of deficiencies of the traditional ER valve, which can be used as series parallel and mixed. It can appropriately increase or decrease the electrode quantity of knotholes, constitute the current of different structure to change valve according to the outer need. It also can adjust parallel with the bolt very knothole gap; carry out have no stage conditioning flow and differential pressure of function.Within the properties of electrorheological fluid, the properties of the cut-off are not tested. This paper test the electrorheology and the relation between the discharge the pressure and the crack.This paper deals with the application of electro-rheological (ER) technology to ER valve. With the development of electro-rheological (ER) technology, the application will become wider.
