Along with the computer science technical development, urban road traffic simulation system become an important tool in research and analyze the traffic system.Urban road traffic simulation system is a complex system that composed of vehicle generation model,road network model,signal control model,vehicle behavior model,route choice model and so on.Traffic network model is one of the most important static model in traffic simulation system.As a carrier of traffic simulation,its structure involves complication and normative.Manual set up a network model is a complex and tedious process.Therefore, research on traffic network model will improve the efficiency of network modeling, also it will provide basic condition for users in road traffic simulation and evaluation.In this paper,for the purpose of quickly generate and import road network model, it is based on urban road traffic simulation software which was developed by my laboratory.For easy network, it provides editing environment for users to generate network model quickly.For complex network, it also provides Auto CAD and VISSIM interface. After drawing completed, then build a reasonable road network model and use the database to store it. Finally, using MultiGen Creator,OpenFlight API programming to realize three-dimensional visualization of road network, and achieve the purpose of generating road network quickly and automatically. The following sections are the specific work of paper:1. Build the basic framework of network model. According to basic framework to design the network topology.2. CAD graphic conversion. Firstly, export data of graphics draw by Civi13D. Then, design method to extract XML document data through VC. At last design conversion algorithm to convert them to topological structure.3. VISSIM geometric road network conversion. Convert the geometric road network of VISSIM simulation software and extract information. Then design conversion algorithm to convert them to topological structure.4. Road network model database design and storage. Establish database tables based on demand of road network model to store the attribute information. This section is based on MFC interface, users can edit and modify the road network database and store it in the database when finish edit.5. Real-time generate three-dimensional scene.Using Creator and OpenFlight API programming to realize three-dimensional visualization of road network. The main method is getting road network data through accessing database and using OpenFlight API to create the model, placing them in the right places, realize the purpose of Visualization.
