With the deepening opening up of China, the amount of Chinese international trade gets a rapid growth. Chinese port which is an important part in water transportation also gets a rapid development. To meet the increasingly busy loading and unloading operations of the port, port crane is becoming more and more heavy, professional and continuous with high speed. The increasing production scale of Chinese ports makes high performance requirements in the safety use of these large port cranes. As an important component of port crane, metal structure is the skeleton of the entire port machinery. The security of metal structure has great significance on the safety use of the entire port machinery.However, at the same time, the metal structural failure has become a serious threat to the safe use of port crane. In order to accurately know the fault conditions of the metal structure and make the assessment of the technical state of the metal structure, making visual fault management and safety evaluation to metal structure of port crane has become the urgent need for port enterprises. This article is mainly about the visualization of metal structure failure and safety evaluation of port machinery, and the main contents are as follows:(1)Based on the research of relevant visualization technology and reasonable choice for visualization tools, this paper elaborates the work of making visual fault management for metal structure of port machinery.(2)After comparing various evaluation methods and considering the characteristics of safety evaluation of port crane, this article chooses the fuzzy evaluation theory to build the safety evaluation system for metal structure of port crane.(3)With the application of Visual Basic programming language, it develops visual failure and safety evaluation system for metal structure of port crane. This system consists of two parts, which are visual failure module and safety evaluation module.(4)This article uses visual failure and safety evaluation system for metal structure of port crane for one portal crane in Yingkou Port to realize the visualization of fault management and security evaluation for metal structure,so that it can test the accuracy of the system.
