Wuhan is facing regionalization, urbanization and the challenges of rapid development of motorization. With the economy in Wuhan the rapid development of the urban population continues to increase, the residents of the rich material life, the state's strong support for the automotive industry, car ownership in Wuhan increased year by year, gradually increasing travel demand of residents;lead to urban transport Surged.In recent years, wuhan accelerated the pace of urban infrastructure construction, and gradually improve the urban road network structure; But the scale and speed of road construction is not meet the increasing traffic demand. Wuhan cross-river passage perennial congestion, rush hour traffic every road tends to stagnation, central business district people motorised traffic moving, lack of parking serious traffic problems seriously affected the normal travel residents, destroy the image of the city of wuhan.The traffic problem is the process of urban construction and development inevitable product, it has a long-term and complexity, systematic and integrated features. The domestic and foreign research and application show that traffic demand management is to solve problems such as urban traffic congestion of one of the most effective methods. Produce traffic the essence of the problem is the traffic of supply and demand due to unbalanced. The traditional solution is constantly increasing the supply of transportation facilities. And the traffic demand management is through to traffic demand guide, regulation and management, to reduce road traffic load, in order to relieve urban traffic congestion, solving related traffic problems.This paper analyse of present situation of wuhan city traffic roblems and has taken policy mesures.analyse wuhan transportation demand management strategy implemented the necessity and feasibility. In combination with wuhan transportation development trend, using of traffic demand management at home and abroad, establish the successful example of auto possession and road vehicle density of Logistic model, and analysis between the road capacity certain circumstances, auto possession and vehicle density relationship; Simultaneously according to take traffic demand management policy on the relationship between the auto possession and summed up after taking a traffic demand management strategy, wuhan urban road traffic problems improvement situation.At present the traffic demand management theory and methods, this paper has not yet fully mature to existing traffic demand management theories and ideas for effective integration using, summed up in solving traffic demand management strategy in urban road traffic problems of static effective method for solving the traffic problem in wuhan, and traffic sustainable development provides theoretical the basis for future urban road traffic in solving the problems caused by provide certain reference.
