The traffic congestion has become a serious problem the each big city on the world is facing, how to alleviate this problem has become an important research topic in the field of road traffic. Delve into the running law of vehicles in the road traffic congestion is one of the key problems of the subject. There is a significant difference of vehicle running characteristics between free traffic flow and road congestion, vehicle running has a direct impact on the road traffic efficiency and traffic safety, so the research on the law of vehicle running under the road traffic congestion has important theoretical value and practical significance.Based on the existing theories and research, this paper analyzes the running rules of vehicles in traffic congestion on the basis of the analysis of the survey data, mainly finished the following works:(1) Definition of traffic congestion:divide the traffic congestion into mild traffic congestion and moderate traffic congestion and severe traffic congestion according to traffic congestion level; divide the traffic congestion into smooth, jam, congestion and blocking according to Traffic congestion state; divide the process of traffic congestion into traffic congestion points form stage and traffic congestion dissipation stage and definite the Second Traffic congestion. the influence of human, vehicle, road, environment and management on traffic congestion is analyzed.(2) Based on the definition of traffic congestion in this paper, the running track of the vehicle, the vehicles’ stop in the process of traffic congestion is analyzed; lane changing characteristics of the vehicle is analyzed, established and validated a safe distance model for the vehicle lane changing in the process of road traffic congestion from formation to dissipation.(3) In order to further clarify the running rules of vehicles in traffic congestion, according to the differences of vehicles running characteristic in the traffic congestion points form stage and traffic congestion dissipation stage, established vehicle running model in the traffic congestion points form stage and traffic congestion dissipation stage respectively. In traffic congestion in the formation stage, this paper used game theory as the foundation constructed vehicle lane-changing probability model; In the traffic congestion dissipation stage, this paper determined the order parameter of the traffic congestion according to the self-organization theory of synergetic theory. Dased on the shortest travel time and Dijkstra algorithm for optimal path selection method, the evacuation model for road traffic congestion was established.The core content of this paper is to research running rules of vehicles under the road traffic congestion environment, emphasize the combination of theory and practice and the rely of qualitative analysis and quantitative research, made innovations in the aspects of concept definition, model construction etc. The research results of this paper provide a certain theory and model support for the establishment of vehicle operation model in the road traffic congestion environment.
