In recent years, with the vigorous grown of auto industry, leading to the rapid development of auto components and parts technical. LED has already been the best choice of the new generation of automobile illuminant because of its smaller volume, longer life, Low energy consumption, resistance to vibrate, start time quick, environmental protection etc. LED will be applied in automotive headlamp as the ultimate goal in the field of automotive lighting. LED devices are very sensitive to temperature, heat will continue to accumulate if cooling bad, leading to higher junction temperature of LED, it will directly cause cut lifespan of LED and even failure. The heat dissipation restricts the development of LED automobile headlamps, for this reason, how to through efficient cooling technology enables LED work smoothly, undoubtedly, is the key to automobile headlamp's design. This paper studies heat dissipation of high-power LED automobile headlamp, and the specific work as follows:(1) Through the analysis of energy shortage and auto industry development situation, the importance of this project is presented. Based on the analysis of the characteristics of high-power LED automobile headlamp and current research and application of the heat dissipation in and out of China, the contents and technologies about this project are determined.(2) Illustrates the principles of LED light, according to high beam brightness requirements estimates the quantity of using LED, decides to adopt a parabolic reflector design plan, and design a High-power LED automobile lamp model by using three-dimensional design software PRO/E.(3) Expounds the thermodynamic theory and the theoretical basis of thermal analysis, simplifies the LED automobile light source model designed, imports the simplified model into the ANSYS finite element analysis software and analyses the simplified model without any heat sink, fan-cooled LED light source model, and the model cooled by radiator respectively by using the software.(4) Utilizing feedback circuit to control the cooling fan's switch and stop which designed by using SCM technology according to the temperature of the chip, and using the feedback cooling technology in high-power LED automobile lights.
