Study On Fast Fault Location Technology For Power Cable Based On WebGIS

Power cable is widespread availability for its superiority insulation capacity, but the power cable fault is difficult to find has affected the safe operation of power grid, also a serious impact on people's daily lives.Power cables are always used under ground,it is difficult to find the fault location quickly after insulation malfunction,and it's important to find the fault location accurately,quickly and economically.In this paper, the main types of domestic and international power cable fault location methods were compared and analyzed.Based on the development on power cable fault location,a solution of fast fault location technology based on WebGIS is presented.This solution useing information management system of power cable based on WebGIS and second-impulse method to seek power cables fault.Then the power cable fault location method is discussed in detail in this paper.Firstly, the causations and types of fault are introduced,and it gives a detailed explanation of low voltage impulse method,impulse pressure method and second-impulse method which are used for detecting faults.Secondly, this paper introduced functions of a information management system based on WebGIS.Thirdly, the paper gave some applying examples and second-impulse method to seek power cable fault. Finaly,some conclusions can be drawn as follows:(1)Compared with the conventional off-line positioning technology,WebGIS can accurately locate the position for various fault types,the position error is little.(2)The Power Cable Fault Detector can auto calculate these sampling data and give the right results.Compared with the manual calculation,it can be faster.
