Large-scale energy storage technology and matching converter technology have been applied widely in the power system. In recent years, the recombination of power industry in the world provides new opportunities for the development of energy storage technologies and converter technologies. With these technologies, energy management in power system will be realized far more better, especially in the fields of renewable new energy and distributed generation where the effect is obvious.Power converter played as the link between the power grid and energy storage devices, which has the charging and electricity feedback function, is one of the important links in energy storage system, and the key equipment in battery energy storage system. With the development of the energy storage technique, especially the application of the battery energy storage technology, battery storage converter has become the focus object in this field.The overall design scheme of the converter was put forward in this paper, and then the topology structure of both the PWM active rectifier power circuit and the Bi-directional DC/DC power circuit was selected with their theory parameters being determined. This paper expounds the control strategy of the active rectifier and the bi-directional DC/DC converter on the basis of the hysteresis control theory. In order to achieve the design objective of high control precision and fast response speed, the control circuit of the converter was realized by analog control mode. According to the guidance of control ideas, the design of the AC/DC control board, DC/DC control board and their corresponding sampling circuit and drive circuit were presented too. For the sake of testing and verifying the feasibility and rationality of the control strategy, the experimental platform of the main power circuit was set up and a series of debugging experiments were conducted. The experimental results show that the control strategy not only gets high power factor but also improve the current tracking effect. It has feasibility and engineering value.
