The feedwater heater is one kind of heat transfer equipment which heats boiler feedwater by using extraction steam of terbine. It is one of the most important auxiliary equipments of thermal power generating system. Heaters which designed reasonably play a very important role for operational reliability and economy of power plant.Aiming at 10 different structural types of heaters derived from types of heaters (vertical type or horizontal type), four kinds of combination (condensation zone; desuperheating zone and condensation zone; desuperheating zone and condensation zone and drain cooling zone; condensation zone and drain cooling zone) and whether drain cooling zone is hydrocone type or submerged type, this paper accomplishes heaters'thermodynamic calculation study for single stage and multistage series heat regenerative system and related accessories calculation method, puts forward the preliminary design and detailed design baesd on the structure, analyzes the performance of heaters under variable condition. Comparative analysis of different performance calculation methods under variable condition is made. This paper puts forward the thermodynamic design thinking and performance calculation methods under variable condition directed towards heaters with submerged drain cooling zone. On this basis, combining with advanced visual design software Visual Basic 6.0, this paper realizes the compilation about thermodynamic calculation software of heaters under the environment of Windows. With built-in 3-sectional heater for model, it carries out discuss about design proposal and performance under varying duty of heaters. The software compiled under DOS environment has bad operability and visual effect, deals with data communition and data input and output inconveniently, this software resolves these defects, and provides a beneficial tool for fast and high-efficiency thermodynamic design and performance analysis of heaters.Thermodynamic calculation software of heaters has completed all development and is submitted to enterprise for design and calculation.
