Comparative analysis of different performance calculation methods under variable condition is made. This paper puts forward the thermodynamic design thinking and performance calculation methods under variable condition directed towards heaters with submerged drain cooling zone. On this basis, combining with advanced visual design software Visual Basic 6.0, this paper realizes the compilation about thermodynamic calculation software of heaters under the environment of Windows. With built-in 3-sectional heater for model, it carries out discuss about design proposal and performance under varying duty of heaters. The software compiled under DOS environment has bad operability and visual effect, deals with data communition and data input and output inconveniently, this software resolves these defects, and provides a beneficial tool for fast and high-efficiency thermodynamic design and performance analysis of heaters.Thermodynamic calculation software of heaters has completed all development and is submitted to enterprise for design and calculation.
