Liming River had been taken for example which is the Daqing city's inland river. Here, we had made a analyze and conclusion from the ecology and based on other relevant branch's theory and practice experience. First, the paper defined the relevant concepts of the project, analyzed and distinguished the cross theory of city ecology, landscape design and landscape ecology. Based on the study of development status and cases at home and abroad, the basic methods of water-front landscape design are given. What is more, a whole analyze of the environment and resource has been done in a macroscopic view, which determined the development direction of the project. After the analyze of the resource, opinions of the ecological landscape planning theory had been proposed which include environment sustainability and ecological recovery. And then, the total design is given based on the planning. The next, a ecological function distinguish of the project is made in a Madhyamika view, which is the ecological landscape pattern called "one band, four regions, three points", and a valuable significance ecological adjustable system has been established. Then, the traffic afforest and cultural function in the district had been organized and optimized. At last, the design principle for different regions is refined which is completely presented in the design details:give detailed and suitable way of landscape creation design according to different spatial form of points, lines and sides. What is more, according to the distinguishing feature of the project, the method of disposing the ecological bank-river, ground laying and the configuration of vegetation was proposed which has generalized meaning. Through bringing in the ecological theory, we can design the landscape of Liming river of Daqing city to a useful landscape which will has a positive effect and will give a sustainable optimization to ecological environment.
