Research On Urban Rord Green Space Landscape In Harbin Urban City

The road landscape as the significant component of the urban landscape has the further meaning for improving the city environment, creating urban identity and enhancing the city statue. Basing on the investigation and analysis of the roads landscape in Nangang, Xiangfang, Daoli, Daowai districts in main area of Harbin as the research samples, the thesis has presented the strategies for the construction of the road landscape in Harbin.The thesis has been divided into six chapters. The first and second chapters has introduced some necessary concepts and theories related to the road landscape, including Landscape Ecology, Modern Road Aesthetics and Theory of Three Elements in Landscape. The third chapter has clarified the road landscape into three patterns in Harbin, and illustrated the function and factors of impact in the roads, which has found the basis for the research work. In the fourth chapter, author has used the method of statistic analysis to access the qualitatively the progress of the road landscape in Harbin, including the greenway in the administrative districts, the rates of greenway on different classes roads. The result has been used to make a comparison with the standards of the landscape city in order to find the gap between them. The present situation of the roads in different patterns has been investigated, including the plants species, pattern of planting, types of landscape structures and management. The problems have been produced from the Ecology and Landscape perspective, that is:the low rate of the green lands; lacking of aesthetics, identities and weakness of management. The principles of roads landscape design were given in the fifth chapters based on the field investigation, the detail methods for the design of roads landscape in different patterns and the plants species were provided either. At the end of the thesis, the following strategies have been presented, that are: using abundant plants species; strengthening the vertical greening; creating the European atmosphere; unfolding the snow and ice culture. The authors hope the strategies will be useful for the further development of the roads landscape in Harbin.
