Industry is the main support of our national economy. And single-story industrial plant is the main building structural form in industrial enterprises. So the seismic performancy of this kind of structures directly determines the extent of losses of industrial economy after an earthquake, even will affect the entire national economical development. Seismic vulnerability analysis of structures can reflect the seismic capacity quite well, furthermore, it is the most basic step of earthquake damage evaluation. Therefore, this paper chooses single-story factory buildings as the research object for seismic vulnerability analysis, and has deduced the earthquake damage matrix of non-fortification factories and the seismic vulnerability curves of fortification factories.First of all, the earthquake damage data of single-story factory buildings from the Haicheng earthquake and Tangshang earthquake are arranged in this paper. The earthquake damage matrix of non-fortification single-story factory buildings are induced and suggested.Secondly, the non-fortification single-story factory buildings are decreasing, and the seismic fortification single-story factory buildings are increasing. Meanwhile, in our country, There are lack of the earthquake damage data of seismic fortification factory buildings. This paper chose single-story factory buildings with reinforced concrete columns as research object, based on Orthogonal Design and Latin Hypercube Sampling method, the seismic vulnerability curves are deduced by using the nonlinear finite element numerical simulation method. The analysis methods have the following features:â‘ By comparing Monte Carlo method with others, the combination of Orthogonal Design and Latin Hypercube Sampling method is selected, which could reduce sampling numbers and ensure simulation efficiency.â‘¡At home and abroad, using the numerical simulation method to deduce the seismic vulnerability curves, the uncertainties of earthquake load is only considered, and has ignored the uncertainties of structural parameters is neglected. So in this paper, the uncertainties of ground motion and structural parameters, which are 8 in number, are fully considered.â‘¢Considering problems which existe in artificial ground motion, 45 natural earthquake records are choosed. In order to fully consider the uncertainties of ground motion, the uniform sampling is used in the earthquake magnitude, epicentral distance and site conditions. Finally, the relative influences on seismic vulnerability analysis form the uncertainties of the ground motion and structural parameters are compared by using single factor evaluation, intuitive analysis and variance analysis. Some suggestions for choosing the uncertainty parameters for seismic vulnerability analysis of single-story factory buildings are given.Although the seismic vulnerability analysis of single-story factory buildings with reinforced concrete columns is only conducted in the paper, the method given by the paper can be extended to use in those of other kind of single-story factory buildings.
