Bridge inspection vehicle is one of the most effective tools for bridge testing. By now,both at domestic and abroad, manual inspection was mostly used to detect bridge. Manualtype inspection vehicle can finish detection task, but it have many shortcomings, such as highcost, dangerous, and test results is subjective etc. so develop new type bridge inspectionvehicle has important significance, intelligent bridge by unmanned test which the arm framestructure is lighter, more flexible and can adapt to the more complex conditions. The cost ofintelligent bridge inspection is lower than the manual one, and can more adapt to the demandof the market. The study of intelligent bridge inspection will be further promote the highlyeffective of bridge test, and will take support for bridge digital detection.The paper based on intelligent bridge inspection vehicle as the object, the arm framestructure of the inspection vehicle is designed and the reliability is analyzed too. The researchcontent includes:(1) The arm frame structure form of intelligent bridge inspection car isdetermined, the arm truss structure and the auxiliary structure are designed (2) The track ofinspection vehicle arm was obtained according to the working process of bridge inspectionvehicle, both the 3d models of each structure and movement simulation of assembly bodywere made by Pro/E.(3) According to each arm frame structure's movements, hydrauliccircuits are designed to meet the requirements.(4)The statics and modal analysis of inspectionarm frame structure and contact stress analysis of assembly body were made by ANSYS.The results of design and analysis show that the weight of the designed structure islower than the traditional structure and the degree of automation has greatly improved. The parameters of the car structure are reasonable and the arm trajectory is consistent with theactual work, which can both be confirmed by the results of the movement simulation for theinspection car. The reliability and rationality of the design can be confirmed by finite elementanalysis, which suggest that the stress, strain and natural frequency of the designed carstructure are all within the acceptable limits.
