Research Of HLA Middleware Of Battlefield Simulation

Distributed simulation has got a very good application in the military simulation field,with continued progress and development of simulation technology ,HLA framework has become a standard development architecture of distributed simulation. Follow this development standard is intended to establish common simulation architecture to improve interoperability between simulation systems and promote the reuse of modeling and simulation components. HLA technical framework is implemented by RTI, RTI is a software system developed in accordance with the HLA interface specification ,which can provide a common, relatively independent support services for the simulation application, the function like a distributed operating system, RTI provides six services for Federal simulation members,the six services is Federal Management Service, statement management service, object management service, time management service, ownership management service and data distribution management service, the six services enable interoperability of simulation application and reusability of simulation resource possible, but the function of the six services is limited, it can not meet the functional requirements of the simulation members with special needs. And some working mechanisms of the data distribution management service and the time management service are unsatisfactory, these mechanisms needs to be improved and optimized, but these services are provided by the RTI, if you want to change them Some details you have to re-develop the entire RTI, which is obviously very difficult, and re-development costs are very high, in order to solve the above problems better simulation industry introduce the middleware technology, Combinate the middleware technologies and HLA, HLA middleware applications.This article will details how to use HLA middleware technology combined with COM components and HLA to simplify the development of HLA application and On-demand expand the RTI function, Several Key Technical such as conversion of complicated data types,calling of distributed component,packaging of RTI interface were discussed And management services for data distribution were optimized, It is a valuable reference for HLA middleware technologies and extension of RTI fuctions.
