This dissertation derives from the Project "UAV Fleet Fighting Visual Simulation System".This dissertation describes the content and building principle of Virtual Environment of Spatial Battlefield (VESB), and the developed a visual simulation system based MultiGen and Vega.The three aspect of VESB was discussed: 3D modeling, 3D terrain building and integration of virtual environment. In the part of 3D modeling, some theories and technologies was discussed. Then, how to build 3D terrain was analysis. This dissertation presented two new methods of terrain building: Lofting Based on Contour and Random Terrain Building Based on Fractional Brown Motion. At the third part of the dissertation, the integration of virtual environment was discussed, including collision detection, moving clouds, and synthetic natural environment. Based on these theories, a clouds generation method and a collision detection method were presented.At the end of this dissertation, an instance of VESB was given. "UAV Fleet Fighting Visual Simulation System" was built. Most technologies of the VESB, which had been discussed before, were applied in this system.
