At present, China's urban rail has been approved operations; a total of 28 metro cities are built and planned. Network of urban rail transit construction continues to accelerate, the increasingly prominent features of the network press many more demands of the connectivity between the lines. Each line is not in contact with the vehicles, which transfer to each other for the transition operation; resources of vehicle and its maintenance depot need to be shared, which requires connecting lines to realize. The layout of connecting line is playing an important role in network planning, how to plan it rationally combined with the distribution of existing nets and depots is a serious problem to be solved. In this thesis, in the first, the setting conditions and technical standards of the connecting line are analyzed. In the second, it builds a mathematical model related to connected graph to analyze the connecting line number set in the line network, which makes it come true to achieve the line network connectivity of the various lines with less of the connecting line. In the third, the thesis studys two layout methods of the connecting line in a deep level and establishs mathematical models as well as projects calculations based on construction cost. Through studying the layout of the connecting line for Beijing urban rail transit network in 2010, it shows a strong applicability in this method. Finally, this thesis takes layout of connecting line for Beijing urban rail transit in 2015 as the case study; it sorts complex vehicle standards and the depot distribution. Based on the construction cost optimization method, a method called sub-standard construction cost optimization method is proposed to obtain a reasonable layout of connecting line.Studies have shown that construction costs optimization method is suitable for the city with pre-preparations, planning and construction of the urban rail transit; and those medium-sized nets with the single standard. Sub-standard construction costs optimization method is suitable for the city in which urban rail transit has been operated easier; and it have the network characteristics with many more complex stardards.
