Abstract:With increased demand from strong economic growth all over the world, the problem of limited petroleum resource becomes increasingly prominent. Scientist and experts from every country make great efforts in seeking alternative energy resource, to alleviate the biting shortage of petroleum. Using gas fuel as alternative energy resource in engines catches more and more attention for utility as engines have good conditions in power, economy and emissions when fueled with gas.In this paper, we developed a capacitor discharge ignition system for ZS 11 OOM-GAS cylinder gas engine, which making the utility of gas fuel possible after the conjunction use of engine and ignition system. We research on the relative theory of ignition circuit and boost circuits for capacitive discharge ignition system. Moreover, the pros and cons of different Boost circuit selection of different parameters were compared using simulation method. On this basis, we completed the design of ignition circuit system and full system development and testing. We built up a testing device to detect the ionic current changes in the engine cylinder based on capacitor discharge ignition system. The device used in conjunction with the capacitor discharge ignition system is able to achieve the spark plug arcing, as well as to achieve the flame ion current signal acquisition. Finally, we used a newly developed ignition system combined with the engine. Also, we carried on research to examine the combustion stability of gas fuel. The research is supported by the The National Natural Science Foundation of China'The Basic Research on the Combustion Stability of Low BTU Fuel Engine'.
