Coal has been one of the most important basic energy of our country. China's major coal transportation methods are the railway and highway. The railway construction takes long time, so the length of the line can not breakthrough in a short period. Meanwhile, the cost of transport by highway is expensive and this method will bring serious environmental pollution. The problems above of these two traditional methods made them unable to meet the growing demand of coal. In this case, the pipe rail transport system which uses linear induction motor came into being. The core device of the pipe rail transport system is traction converter, which provides traction power to the vehicle. As the traction converter directly determines the performance of the system, it is necessary to do study on the traction converter. Based on this situation, this thesis studies the components and technologies of the traction converter and mainly focuses on the following aspects:First, considering of principle of linear motors, technical features, traction characteristics and requirements of the traction, the thesis makes clear the design requirements and overall architecture of the traction converter, describes in detail the principles and basis for its determination.According to the design requirements and overall architecture of the traction converter stated above, the thesis then research on the circuit design, control system structure, traction control strategy, requirements and implementation methods of fault diagnosis.In terms of circuit design, the thesis identified the main circuit topology by the design requirements, and then focuses on the selection of switching devices and Inductors and capacitors, driver parameter tuning, DC buffer circuit design. In the control system field, Identified a framework program combined by DSP and CPLD to meet the control requirement. On the aspect of traction control, as the pipe rail transport system exist edge effect, parameter variation and load fluctuation, the thesis choose indirect vector control strategy based on secondary field-oriented. For the particularity existed in the fault diagnosis process of traction converter, the thesis takes the switching devices as primary goal of fault diagnosis and brings about a diagnosing method relied on ac mean-residual normalized criterion and ac peak current criterion.The paper covers many aspects of traction converter of the pipe rail transport system, considering that the author's ability is limited and the research time is constraint, the thesis contains many shortcomings,please give me some advices.
