The vector control scheme that is the representative of AC speed regulating technique reconstruct a motor model through converting of coordinate so that it is equivalent of a DC motor. So its torque and flux can be control just as DC motor. Nowadays, the vector control scheme becomes a main flow in AC speed regulating technique.Before the appearance of matrix converter, the main part of vector control scheme usually is AC-DC-AC converter of diode or silicon controlled rectifier. Because the converter can create a lot of pollution of harmonic waveform in the line side and can not achieve bidirectional pass of the energy,it restricts the development of AC speed regulating technique. However, matrix converter has a lot of the advantages, such as AC-AC a time converting, no big filter capacitor, sine wave of input phase current and output phase voltage and so on, it is used in AC speed regulating system.Firstly, this paper clarifies the background of the research; the basic structure and the research status of vector control scheme and novel indirect matrix converter are introduced.Secondly, the vector control scheme based on inverter of voltage source is introduced and analyzed. In this theory, inverter of voltage source is placed by indirect matrix converter so that a new vector control scheme is presented.Thirdly, based on the topology of indirect matrix converter, principle, control strategy and zero current commutation of indirect matrix converter is introduced in details.Lastly, based on research of indirect matrix converter and the vector control scheme, this paper combines the indirect matrix converter with the vector control schemes so that a new vector control scheme is presented. The presented system not only achieves vector control of motor, but also commutates current at zero current for the bidirectional switches and decreases the harmonic pollutions of the line side. Simulation waveforms are gotten through MATLAB software. Simulation analysis shows the feasibility and superiority of using indirect matrix converter in the vector control scheme of induction motor.
