Marine diesel engine is the most important parts of the ship, the ship power source and the key to protect the safety of navigation. Diesel safety monitoring device is an important part of boat cabin monitoring system, the protection of the safe operation of the ship has occupied a pivotal position. Currently, digital, intelligent, modular and network safety monitoring system is the engine of development trends.In this paper, for the working characteristics of the CM-L21/32 medium speed diesel engine for ships and the demand for status monitoring and taking into account the cabin environment and the habit of operating engineers, used digital technology and the 485 bus and modular to design the marine diesel engine safety monitoring devices, and to study the feasibility of achieving diesel engine fault diagnosis faction in safety monitoring devices.Mainly to complete the following:1. The development of the basic unit of security monitoring devices for Marine Diesel engine. Used 32-bit embedded micro-controller as the core to complete the basic modules of the hardware circuit design. To achieve diesel important analog signals and switch signals collection, storage and transmission; To achieve internal logic control functions such as starting, stopping, emergency stop and fault stoping, output control action; To achieve the more limit alarm of important parameter.2. The development of Safety monitoring device for marine diesel engines operating display unit. Used 8-bit single-chip microcomputer, designed the three modules with the operating display unit, to achieve start-stop, reset button command operations, digital display analog signals and alarm indication.3. The designs of the RS485 bus communication of Marine diesel engine monitoring unit. According to demand, custom RS485 bus protocol and communication, achieve data exchange between modules.4. To study feasibility of the Marine diesel engine condition monitoring fault diagnosis unit. Combined with the actual situation monitoring device, study the techniques and methods of diesel engine condition monitoring fault diagnosis and give the feasibility design. 5. To complete the actual functionality test verification of the prototype development of safety monitoring device. In all load and speed, the device control function, control precision, showing the accuracy and reliability were tested.
