With the materials transferred between Yangtze River and Coastal areas becomes more and more frequently, the research on the new multi-functional river-to-sea ships becomes extremely urgent, in order to give full play to the advantages of the Yangtze golden waterway. As river-to-sea ship has large Breath and shallow Draft. It is easily to occur slamming phenomena in the bottom of the bow when sailing in bad sea conditions. As a transient load, slamming also causes whipping of the overall structure, ranging from crew members will affect the working and living environment, affect the navigation operation, while in the lead on board device is not working even failure, reduce ship life generating navigational safety problems, may result in serious damage to the hull structure, threatening the safety of ships.On the basis of the previous research results about slamming and whipping, the article do some research on the whipping of the whole river-to-sea ship induced by slamming loads, using the finite element analysis software MSC.NASTRAN, based on the modal analysis method. The concrete works as follows:1. summarize home and abroad studies on whipping of the ship induced by slamming, absorbing the research methods about the whipping of the ship on the base of studying a large number of relevant research.2. determine the effect of slamming area load, load amplitude and time and other related parameters, and the additional water quality of the ship, using the existing river-to-sea ship information. Establish the finite element model of the entire ship, based on the modal analysis method, using MSC.NASTRAN software to research the whipping of the river-to-sea ship induced by slamming compared with the hull structure response induced by wave, the results show that the response are at the same level, but when the two are superimposed on each other the ship would cause great harm, so we must pay attention to that.3. compare the related parameters (amplitude of slamming pressure,the number of consecutive slamming,the time interval of repeatedly slamming,damping, etc.), obtain the influence of the parameter on the whipping and provide a useful reference for the future design of multi river-to-sea ship.
