With the car's speed increase, the handling and stability of a car became more and more important, which is known as "the lifeblood of high-speed vehicles", because it is an important property of the active safety. The traditional research methods can not satisfy the requirement of car performance researching, Virtual prototype technology gives more convenience to the analysis of the vehicle's handling and stability, which makes analysis of individual factors on the performance of the vehicle more convenient.Suspension K&C characteristics and vehicle parameters have a great influence on vehicle handling and stability, but it is difficult to get a single parameters's effect on vehicle handling and stability. It can easily get the effect of the single parameter changes on vehicle handling and stability by using Adams/car, the concept of suspension modules in adams can separate the suspension's K&C characteristics, which facilitates the analysis of individual characteristics on vehicle handling and Stability. The effect and sensitivity of single parameters on the vehicle handling and stability can provide important directions to the optimal design of vehicle.Based on the Adams/car, this paper established a double-wishbone independent front suspension and multi-link independent rear suspension simulation models, then converted them into the concept suspension models respectively by CSM module, finally set up the whole concept simulation model of vehicle handling and stability. Then, it analyzed the suspension K&C characteristics and its effect on vehicle handling and stability using double wishbone independent and multi-link independent suspension simulation models.in the simulation model get the curve, after that, analysis of the suspension characteristics. What's more, it simulated the effect of K&C characteristics of camber,toe angle,track,longitudinal force,lateral force,and aligning torque on the vehicle handling and stability, and the test includes straight line braking,steady turn,step turn and hook test with the comparison test which made the individual characteristic affect in condition of normal,suppressed and opposite direction. In Insight model, it gives the sensitivity order of K&C characteristics to vehicle handling and stability with the same test. Finally, it analyzed the effect of vehicle parameters to the step steering, and the vehicle parameters contains the location of the center of mass,stiffness of suspension,track,wheelbase,load with the comparison test that the single parameter take the normal, increase a certain value (ratio), reducing a certain value (percentage).Analyzing the suspension K&C characteristics and vehicle parameters on vehicle handling and stability, provided a theoretical basis to the adjust and design of suspension and chassis.
