The pressure that clectric power demanding increment and enviromental protection request promoted the development of the new energy. The wind energy was developing fastest among all kinds of renewable resources due to it's a kind of renewable green power resources, its low cost and technical maturity. With the development of wind industry,there would be more and more wind farms integrated with the power system. Moreover,the intermittence and the fluctuating of wind farm power output would produce many problems to the power system's operating.Dynamic economic dispatch (DED) is a high-dimensional, non-convex, multi-constrained optimization problem. With the increase of wind power in power systems, DED problem becomes more difficult. The economic dispatch problem including wind farms discussed in this paper considering the characteristic of wind power and the requirements of the economic dispatch.In this paper, the power output of thermal unit is optimized to obtain a dynamic economic dispatch scheme in wind power integrated system. In the optimization model, the constraints of up spinning reserve and down spinning reserve are introduced to deal with the influence of wind power forecast errors on dynamic economic dispatch. An improved particle swarm optimization algorithm is used, in which three improving strategies are proposed to improve computing speed and effciency. Firstly, "the recycling strategy" and "the prior list strategy" are used to generate feasible solutions, and then, "the opportunistic stop strategy" is used to optimize the feasible solutions. At last,an example of economic dispatch considering grid-connected wind power is provided based on the IEEE-10 electrical system.MATLAB 6.5 was also used to demonstrate this method.We analyze the results in this example.Results of the example show that the proposed strategies possess good stability, fast searching speed, good optimization result, and efficient search capability and adaptability.
