Aluminum alloy is a metal material, lightweight, high strength, and good durability. The material properties of aluminum alloy have a great adaptability with the mechanical properties of truss girder suspension bridge. The product of a combination of that two:suspension bridge with aluminum alloy truss girder has its rationalities and feasibilities on works of engineering. First, describes the material properties of aluminum alloy, basic concepts of aluminum extrusion and compared mechanical pro-perties of aluminum and steel. The second, described the mechanical properties of aluminum alloy connections, including bolt, rivet and welding connection. In particular, introducts the Friction Stir Welding,a new welding method with good future. Then, Compared of two different materials, aluminum alloy and steel, construction forms of truss girder and bridge deck, and designed a double-extruded aluminum alloy bridge deck system. And then, with FEM method, summed up the Mechanical laws of suspension bridge with aluminum alloy truss girder under dead load, live load, temperature load and free vibration characteristics. Final, briefly analysis of the aluminum alloy truss girder bridge's economics. Although the costs of aluminum alloy truss girder are very high, anchorages, towers, cable systems, and the main beam conservations can save a lot of costs. As this reason, suspension bridge with aluminum alloy truss girder is useful.
