As a kind of art form, building sort of reflects a social formation in particular time during the history. We all know that the main form of Islam buildings is mosque and there're so many rearches about it while another kind of form, which is called "Qubbah", nearly has no achievement. From July to August in 2007, August to September in 2010 the auther went to Ershi Lipu Nangusi Qubbah in Kaicheng Town, Guyuan City and did field work there, collecting some direct materials from the talk and investigation with the Muslims there. February 2011 she went to Guamagou Qubbah in Gucheng Town, Pengyang County in Guyuan City and made a simple grasp about it. Besides, the author gained some information about some other Qubbah buildings in southern Ningxia, at the basic of which she draws a brief introduction and analyses their functions, just take an example of Ershi Lipu Nangusi Qubbah.Qubbah is a form of address for China-Islam predecessors'mausoleum. It is a transliteration of Abric language, with its own meaning about a dome-shaped structure or an arched tomb building. It is called "Mazar" in Central Asia and Persia, as well as in Xinjiang Wei Autonomous Region, means the tomb of ancestors, or saint. At the first beginning, this kind of building was just popular in the area of Abric, Persia and Central Asia, then became a special anaphora just for the dome-shaped structure which covers on the tomb of ancestors, leaders, saint, etc. It was used for admire and revere; therefore, the address was combined with trasliteration ingenious and was called "Qubbah". In inland area of China, Qubbah is the tomb building for the preachers, the first ancestors or elder generations of Sufi. As soon as in the Yuan Dynasty, the tomb building of the preachers, who from Abric areas or other countries, were most likely to be dome-shaped structure, filling with Abric style. Nangusi Qubbah, which in Guyuan Ershi Lipu, is a preaching and recuperating peace of a great man who is called "a super man from the west" by the local people. He was buried here after his death. The thesis focuses on the historic origin and the development, making an introduction about them. On the base of that, the paper analyses the function of the building,The whole thesis can be devided into 6 parts.The first part makes a brief introduction of the whole thesis, which gives an explanation why the author chose the topic about Qubbah, and expounds sententiously about the research status both in home and abroad. Besides, it tells the author's methods in doing the research, such as field work in anthropology, finding and arranging materials she collected, drawing pictures and tables, and finally combining with the anthropology theories.The second part is the first chapter of the whole thesis, which tells the general conditions of the Qubbah building in Southern Ningxia. It can be divided into two parts: on one hand, it introduces the concept the Qubbah, as well as its process that appeared in China and development. And also, the author explains that Qubbah is sort of a supplement of the combination, which get its birth during the course of event that the system in Sufi of Islam and traditional patriarchal clan system. on the other hand, it takes a summary introduction about the Qubbah building in Southern region of Ningxia.The third part is the second chapter of the paper. The author interprets Ershi Lipu Nangusi Qubbah in Kaicheng Town, Guyuan City in details, and to be excellent in both pictures and literary compositions. On the basis of that the writer focuses on its historic origin, the development, and the current situation as well, and then makes a statement about them.The fourth part is the third chapter of the thesis, which takes the most important position through the whole article. On the base of what was mentioned before, the thesis analyses the function of Qubbah building, takes an illustration of Ershi Lipu Nangusi Qubbah as follows:first of all, the basic function as to consolidate the religious belief. The Qubbah building was set to commemorate the died preachers or ancestors of elder generations, at the same time, it fits the needs that local muslins holding religious activities. Secondly, to guide and coordinate local muslins. The management committee of Qubbah merged Islamic dharma and law of the country together, guiding the local people to follow Koran tells and legislation requests. Besides, they use a series of particular "words" and "expressions" to make sure their measures can be carried on smoothly. Third, to strengthen the cohesive forces of the whole nation, urging national solidarity of the country. The paper illustrates this point from ethnic identification inside muslin, the peaceful relations between Hui people and any other ethnic groups. Last but not least, there are so many any other functions of the Qubbah building, such as protecting cultural relics, serving the local masses, providing and creating factors and conditions during the external communications. The author gives an instance in Nangusi Qubbah and makes her proof more reliable.The thesis proposes a anthropological concept named "Acculturation" in the fifth part, declaring what would happen if there takes acculturation, and finally gains the conclusion about "Qubbah is sort of Islamic building that occurs acculturation". Ultimately, the author raise a issue, which, is not ripe enough maybe, notes that Qubbah building should pushed forward with many kinds measures, aiming to meet the demands of the society and finally achieves its diversification of the functions.The last chapter of the whole paper is the epilogue——summarizes the whole article, sketches out the function of Qubbah, and then reaffirms the author's viewpoint.
