As known to us that, the vehicles have an immeasurable effect in the national economy. With the development of automobile industry, three difficult problems including safety, energy saving and environmental protection need to be solved. Nowadays, with more and more pressure on energy and environmental issues, people are focus on the energy saving performance. When a running automobile is put on the brake, its kinetic energy is changed into heat energy being consumed. The loss energy during vehicle braking can be regenerated and reused when the automobile starts or accretes. Therefore, automobile fuel consumption and exhausted gases can be reduced. By the way, it can benefit the environment and prolong the life of vehicle's braking system. Therefore, the research on vehicle braking energy recovery system is of great significance.In this dissertation,an electrical energy storage system of braking energy recovery is proposed. This system can be used for the year running, brake frequent public transport vehicles. It parallels to the vehicle's power system and transmission system. This system is simple structure and easy installation. The dissertation firstly sets out the electrical storage braking energy recovery system's overall design. It includes the interface device with original transmission system, the coupling devices, the growth sector, the clutch control part, energy recovery device and the whole system control unit. From each function module, the dissertation demonstrates the overall program design.Then the dissertation does some test of bus braking rules and statistical analysis, and establishes a model towards the recyclable energy when braking. Thus, the traffic conditions and control strategy are determined.The modeling and simulation is based on the vehicle whose dynamic system has been matched, including: harmonic gear model, clutch model, motor model, battery model and vehicle model. Every model has several parameters to be set, we can define values to approach real vehicle, by this way, and we can raise accuracy of simulation.Finally, the result of simulation is obtained and it shows that with this additional braking energy recovery system, the rate of energy recovery is 24.3%. Compared to the rate of energy recovery of test, which is 23.3%, the design of this braking energy recovery system is feasible.
