| The sedimentary rock which was't destroyed by the tectonic movement, holds the horizontal original occurrence in the formation period. The old stratum is under the new stratum. Then the sedimentary rock froms the horizontal structure which was called horizontal stratum. The Self-stabilizing capacity which isn't supported after the excavation is called stability of tunnel surrounding rock.Based on the tunnel of Shi ZiWa in PingYao-YuShe highway in ShanXi province, the paper studied the stability and the structure type of tunnel adjacent formation in horizontal stratum area. Then it put forward the corresponding control technology of construction safety.Firstly, according to the engineering practice of Shi ZiWa tunnel and the stability analysis of tunnel surrounding rock, the main effect factors of stability of tunnel adjacent formation were also summarized. Then the paper assessed the stability of tunnel surrounding rock in Shi ZiWa tunnel. It put forward four main effect factors of stability of tunnel adjacent formation in Shi ZiWa tunnel which include the lithology, occurrence, fault and groundwater.Secondly, according to the analysis of the structure type and mechanism of tunnel surrounding rock in horizontally stratum area and the analysis of the monitoring data, the paper concluded the structure type of tunnel adjacent formation in horizontally stratum in Shi ZiWa tunnel.Finally, based on the advanced geological exploration and according to the particularity of the destruction type of tunnel surrounding rock in horizontally stratum, the paper put forward the advanced supporting technology, such as piping method, advanced bolt and advance canal. Then it took corresponding Support scheme, according to different types of rock in the tunnel of Shi ZiWa.
