Driving axle shell is one of the main parts on cars.It is not only the load bearing part, the transmising force and torque part but also is the main reducer, differential and wheel transmission device shell. So the quality of driving axle shell greatly affect the safe use of vehicles.Along with the economical development and the increasing vehicle possession, vehicles are developing to high-speed, continuous lightweight, low energy consumption and high performance. This requires that axle housing not only has enough intensity and rigidity, also requires mass has been reduced to structure and the vibration characteristic must be analysed. The traditional design method has amounted to less than new design requirements. In computer high-speed development today, software aided design come into the various design field.This article through theoretical analysis, modeling on PROE, simulation by Hyper Works, the static strength of axle shell, vibration modal, transient response and structure optimization is studied. Analyses the stress overloaded on rear axle shell, the inherent modal of the axle shell with conditions and in free state.This article studied modal frequency response of axle shell with the input of the various experimental pavement's power spectrum, transient dynamics analysis, and how to reduce the mass of axle shell with topological optimization and the morphology of optimization with target for the node displacement's decreasion.This studies of this paper have certain pratical effect for performance's optimization and lightweight of the axle shell.
