Tunnel collapse is one of the accidents often found in tunnel building, it will cause the financial loss or even threaten the life safety of builders. So it is necessary to study the generate patterns and induced mechanisms, then to give a comprehensive overview of the conventional methods to deal with the tunnel collapse. According to the engineering construction of Si Fangshan tunnel on Qinchong freeway, Guang Xi, by using actual measurements investigated from the work field and the means of finite element numerical simulation, aim at the reasons and types of tunnel collapse in karst areas, finally give a systemic research of the specific methods from tunnel collapse. The main contents including the following aspects:1,Systemic analyze the types and induced reasons of conventional tunnel collapse, summarize effective measures to deal with the general tunnel collapse.2,Combined with the collapse of Si Fangshan tunnel, based on alternatives, proposed the small pipe grouting method and the supporting effect was observed post-tracking.3,Establish tunnel collapse model,explain the reasons of Si Fangshan tunnel collapse by using the numerical simulation, and check the safety factors in preliminary bracing of the ultimate strength for concrete.4,Lining is satisfied the design requirement after collapse was been done by numeric calculation, thus the measurements used in this collapse is proved to be feasible.
