The room acoustic simulation method based on geometrical theory has been well developed. However it can't properly solve the acoustic problems of small room.in low frequency range.For mall room, especially in low frequency, the room size,shape and dimensions have great influence on the acoustics. The resonance frequency can be overcomed and the influence of the low-frequency stationary wave can be reduced by selecting the dimensions and size reasonably.The acoustic field of the actual room is simulated by the COMSOL Multiphysics software based on the FEM.Comparing the calculated acoustics parameters with the measurement results , a good agreement can be seen..Then the influence of room size,shape and dimensions on the small room acoustics discussed The acoustical parameters, the distribution of normal frequency and the acoustical field are calculated by the FEM.The research results show that the characteristics of the acoustic wave in the small room can be revealed properly,and the acoustic parameters in low frequency range can also be calculated correctly by the FEM. Under certain room volume, the room dimension and shape have little influence on theacoustic but the influence on the sound filed distribution within low-frequency range is relatively high.The research results provide some guidance for architectural design of the acoustical small room.
