CFRC(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Conceret)is a kind of composite material made by admixing appropriate amount of carbon fibers to normal concrete. As an important branch of smart material, it not only has excellent mechanical properties but also possesses sensitivity. This property can be used in health monitoring and estimating damage accumulation caused by natural disasters as well as residual life of the concrete structure in time.The following several aspects will be discussed:First, The principle, producing technique and the main factors which influence the sensing ability of the smart concrete are diseussed in this thesis and it is found that the selection of appropriate dispersant is a key problem of manufacturing CFRC, the dispersion of carbon fibers has a significant effect on variation rate of resistance.Second, the effect of adding quantity of every component on strength of CFRC has been discussed in this thesis.Thirdly, the piezoresistivities of CFRC under different electrify time, different loading rate, uniform amplitude cyclic lodanig, ununiform amplitude cyclic lodanig, no load in natural environment, conductivity of age are investigated. The experimental results reveal that the resistance vhanging of CFRC can reflect quantutatively the loading on it, so the CFRC can be used as compress strain sensor.
